BigMile gelooft dat consistente emissiedata verladers, vervoerders en logistieke dienstverleners helpt om carbon accounting te vertalen naar praktische rapportage- en reductiebeslissingen. Een gedeelde en transparante databasis maakt het eenvoudiger om aannames te begrijpen, uitkomsten te vergelijken en vast te stellen waar betere primaire informatie nodig is.
Volgens BigMile wordt emissie-informatie het waardevolst wanneer deze aansluit op bestaande transportprocessen. Dat kan betekenen dat data beschikbaar wordt voor rapportageteams, duurzaamheidsspecialisten en operationele besluitvormers zonder een afzonderlijke informatiestroom te creëren. Het doel is niet alleen een footprint te berekenen, maar ook de onderliggende informatie bruikbaar en uitlegbaar te maken.
