Yes. BigMile is designed to be accessible to users with no prior experience in emissions calculation, while also meeting the needs of more experienced sustainability and operations teams.

BigMile supports calculation of transport and supply chain-related CO₂e emissions, which can be scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions depending on whether you own or outsource your transport activities. These emissions typically fall under the subcategories of Scope 3.4 (Upstream Transportation and Distribution) and Scope 3.9 (Downstream Transportation and Distribution) under the GHG Protocol.

BigMile uses the GLEC Framework as its primary source of emission factors—for all transport modes—for CO₂e emission calculations. This is aligned with the global standard ISO 14083. Where customers can supply primary data such as actual fuel consumption, BigMile uses that for greater accuracy, falling back on GLEC default factors where primary data isn't available.

Online emissions calculators are sufficient for one-off emissions calculations but lack the granularity and insights needed when calculating emissions for multiple journeys or across your operations. 

BigMile provides shipment-level CO₂e emissions data using a calculation methodology aligned with ISO 14083:2023 and the GLEC Framework. This means you can provide accurate emissions data to customers and gain insights into emissions hotspots and opportunities to reduce your carbon footprint.

BigMile provides three core plans for its carbon accounting software: Basic, Premium, and Custom plans for enterprises. Pricing is available on request and special rates are available for members of TLN, ACN, and Evofenedex, and for certain Amazon suppliers. BigMile prioritizes the use of primary data for the most accurate emissions calculations. Where primary data is unavailable, BigMile applies default emission factors from the GLEC Framework and calculates emissions based on the journey and shipment details.

BigMile can be up and running within just a few days. New clients are guided through the onboarding process by a dedicated Business Consultant to ensure the platform is configured to their specific needs and preferences.

BigMile supports the easy export of customer-specific, audit-ready reports directly from the platform. Report templates can be customized with your own branding and generated for individual customers at the click of a button. Reports can be exported as PDFs or spreadsheets, or shared directly with customers through the platform. Automated workflows mean reports can also be scheduled in advance with automatic email delivery to stakeholders.

BigMile's platform supports direct import of primary data via Excel, CSV, or other file uploads. Users first create a custom data template based on their logistics profile, including transport modalities, vehicles, and fuel types relevant to their operations.

Data can then be imported directly to the platform and it is automatically standardized and validated in line with global standards such as ISO 14083. Errors and inconsistencies are flagged so appropriate action can be taken. This ensures that emissions calculations are always based on clean, reliable datasets.

BigMile takes the protection of customer data seriously and takes suitable measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized amendment. The platform is fully GDPR compliant and holds ISAE 3000 Type II and SOC 2 certifications.

BigMile only shares data with third parties where necessary to deliver the service, and processing agreements are in place with any sub-processors to ensure the same standard of security and confidentiality applies.
